Bookkeeper
Our client, a property management company, is looking for a bookkeeper to add to its team in Montreal.
Responsibilities:
The position is broken into two parts:
Accounting Work (75%)
- Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
- Issue invoices to customers
- GST/QST Remittance Filing for all companies
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
- Record cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of every bank account
- Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Maintain the petty cash fund
- Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements
- Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
Admin Work (25%)
- Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
- Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
- Open mail, answering phone calls, correspondence…
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years’ experience as a bookkeeper
- computer literate with experience in MS Office (word and excel) and Simply accounting
- DEC in accounting
- Strong communication in English
Salary based on experience $40,000-45,000
